## Duplicate Check in Workist

:::info
If a customer sends the same document twice, for example the same order to two recipients, Workist can detect the duplicate. In such a case, the document is not processed automatically but goes to assistance with a warning. The warning does not block: you can still complete the document.

### How Workist checks

A document counts as a duplicate if there is another document that

- has the same document number (e.g. order number) and the same customer or supplier number,
- is in the same channel, and
- was received in the last 30 days.

Discarded, rejected and deleted documents do not count. The same document number may occur for different customers.

Workist only checks when both numbers are present. If the document number is missing, or Workist could not assign a customer or supplier number from the master data, the check is skipped. If a customer sends the same document to two mailboxes that belong to different channels, Workist does not detect the duplicate.

The check is available for orders, price requests, order confirmations, invoices and delivery notes. For orders and price requests, Workist compares the customer number; for order confirmations, invoices and delivery notes, the supplier number.

### Activating the Duplicate Check

The setting applies per channel. You need the Manager or Admin role.

1. Open the channel and click the menu in the top right → "Manage channel".
2. Select "Document" in the navigation.
3. In the "Validation" section, under "Validation checks", enable **"Unique document number"**.
4. Click "Save".
